Unlike most people who make money online and love to travel, I really don’t like to travel. When I do it is almost always for business. I prefer to sit in coffee shops, jogging tracks, the side of a pool and watching indie movies, looking around for topics to blog about – inspiration if you may. My other favourite spot is the beach. I love the idea of just being away from the noisy city and focusing on my laptop.

Okay now, getting to the point of this week’s blog.
Let’s face it, we now have an automatic bs detector that runs every time we are browsing the net looking for ways to make money online. However, our detectors don’t work that well all the time which is why we get frustrated after having gone through a very inviting ad about how we can make $5000 in one month while doing nothing. Most are a load of bull, but from my findings some are true except that the way you earn a lot of money is not explained very well.
Over the past few years, I have put together a list of legitimate ways netizens can safely make money online from home without having to call or follow up payments or invest a significant portion of their savings. Before I go any further, I have to make it clear that none of them work unless you set everything up properly. What I love most about it is that, my earnings are immune from the dirty hands of corrupt country leaders, hackers and scammers. Everything is automated and I never have to call or follow up any payments.
Little do most netizens realize the wealth we have in online resources, we have countless sources of tutorials, free trials of services without a sign up obligation and of course an abundance of opportunities to make money legitimately. So how do you make money you ask?
YouTube
When you have a blog or a YouTube channel, it literally costs $0 to set it up and configure it. The steps can be found easily by doing a Google search. Next thing you do is upload videos of whatever your channel is about. It could be about food, living and lifestyles, fashion, educational courses, family, marriage, dating, places worth visiting or anything you can present in a unique way. The next step is to share this YouTube channel on social media platforms. The more views you get the more popular your page channel becomes. To make money using your YouTube channel you have to configure it for ads. For example, each time the ads on your Channels are shown to 1000 people, you can earn around $10 per 1000 views. Take a look at this guy, maximbady as an example.
He followed these steps and now has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and as he uploads new videos regularly, he gets over 1 million people viewing his channel every month. I’ll let you do the math 🙂
One of my personal favourites is Lily Petals World. Another example is mamadee, She is from South Africa and is still relatively new to YouTube. She always has interesting topics about her family and their experiences. These are just a few YouTube examples, there are many more like them on YouTube.
Blogging
A blog is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary. It is a place to express yourself to the world. A place to share your thoughts and your passions. It is really anything you want it to be. To avoid confusion we’ll say that a blog is your own website that you are going to update on an ongoing basis with relevant articles.
How do you make money with a blog?
First and foremost, have your blog configured to display internet ads. When you write about topics that interest people, they will eventually start visiting your blog for regular updates. When this happens ads will be displayed to them and you will be paid for this. Whether people buy or not you will still earn money for every block of 500 to 1000 visitors to your blog/website. Writing means you can be anywhere in the world, blog at your own time and share your thoughts and experiences with the general public. The more people visit your blog, the more you are paid as the ads are shown to all of them.
Teach a course
Build a website and teach people something you are good at. Believe it or not, a lot of people go online and look for courses only to find online teachers in distant countries. Many people would happily pay a local expert to teach them the same skills. It could be blogging, photography, arts and crafts, the list is endless. To teach or discuss you can always use free services like Skype or Whatsapp. However, if you want to stand out and look very professional you can also have your very own chat messenger built and designed with your brand.
