I wanted to share a story with you about getting clients online that I hope will be useful to someone.

Last week I closed a new client.

I had reached out to her and via cold email in January or February. Her response was coy and dismissive and we had a rather funny (at least to me) banter back and forth.

The next day I sent her another email thanking her for responding and explaining why she was not in a position to pay for our services at the time. I ended our email exchange with an invitation for her to reach out to us if she changed her mind – It never hurts if you are serious about getting clients

I then followed her on one of her professional social media channels to better understand her business. I would occasionally comment on the business posts so she would not forget about our business.

A month later she reached out and said she needed to start picking up some more business. We talked, and that afternoon we managed to work out a deal for marketing her business. This is one of the processes we follow in getting clients. We reach out, learn about their needs and suggest solution that will help their respective businesses.

I guess the moral of the story is to be persistent, take time to understand your target market’s businesses and always be reachable (email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, phone etc). This is a combination of advice I got from Gary Vaynerchuck and Grant Cardone. Gary. They talk about paying attention to your clients and prospects and being interested in what they are interested in. Grant talks about constantly contacting your clients and prospects. I took what I could from each, applied it to my business, and tweaked it in a way that works for me and it has improved our sign-up rate considerably

Just some food for thought. Have a great day everyone.
